PVC Recyclers’ Meeting: Record Attendance at RENOLIT SE

AgPR News PVC Recyclers’ Meeting: Record Attendance at RENOLIT SE

The second regional meeting of our successful series of events “PVC Recyclers Meet PVC Recyclers” this year took place on 21 September 2022 with record attendance. More than 40 recycling experts from the entire PVC value chain had come to the VinylPlus Germany member company RENOLIT SE in Worms to talk to each other about recycling and exchange experience about and requirements for PVC recycling. And RENOLIT CEO Michael Kundel took the opportunity to present the company’s recycling goals in detail. Following on from the meeting, there was the option to take part in a factory tour of the film manufacturer, which has itself been investing in its own recycling technologies for many years. The high attendance shows once again the importance attached to this topical subject in the many companies in our sector. Another event is being planned for the end of the year.

The regional events of VinylPlus Germany are organised together with the AgPR, Rewindo and IVK Europe.

As a little surprise, Dr Jochen Zimmermann, CEO of the AgPR, had brought along a practically “shop-fresh” PVC floor tile that had been manufactured and sold by RENOLIT in 1963. The then purchaser of these PVC floor tiles had decided, after nearly 60 years, to replace the floor covering with new PVC flooring and to have the old tiles recycled by the AgPR. In the process, they also handed over an original box with spare tiles for any repairs. The box with the “brand new” historic PVC floor tiles is now in the possession of RENOLIT SE.

The attendees at the event were impressed that the product from 1963 did not appear to have any signs of aging or brittleness. The floor tiles could easily have been laid now to remain in use for another 60 years.
